Tamilnadu State Government Awards 2003 & 04 The Tamilnadu State Government Awards for 2003 & 04 were given yesterday for various artistics fields.

Tamilnadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha were presented the awards for artists at the Madras University Cenetary Hall, Chennai. Vikram, Ravi, Srikanth, Cheran, Laila, Jyothika received awards from Cheif Minister.

Vijay and Surya also participated in the function. Jayalalitha in her speech announced awards for TV Programmers from next year onwards.

Kollywood Directors are not worrying about ‘A’ Certificates

Kollywood Directors are not worrying about 'A' Certificates Now a days Kollywood directors are not worrying to get Adult only certificates from Censor Board. For the past couple of years, many ‘A’ certificate films (Kadhal Kondein, Virumandi, New, 7G) has run successfully in Tamilnadu.

This made producers and directors to get ‘A’ certificate without any fear. Few months back Surya’s ‘Aaru’ was also released under ‘A’ certificate and the film was successfully reached B & C audiences.

Last week three films carrying ‘A’ certificate released on the same day. ‘Kalabak Kadhalan’, ‘Kalvanin Kadhali’ and ‘Madrasi’ all the three carry ‘Adults only’ certificate and the films also get a very good opening among Tamil audience.

The trend of Tamil cinema has now changed totally. This abrupt changes has put the Tamil cinegoers in a tizzy.

Aravindsamy’s wife seeking divorce

Aravindsamy's wife seeking divorce Aravindsamy the heartthrob of many teenage girls in 1990’s. He made his debut in Maniratnam’s film ‘Thalapathi’. He married Gayathri in the year 1994. Gayathri is working as a lecturer in Stella Maris College.

The couple have two children. They both are living separately for the past two years due to differences of opinion. So Gayathri filed a case for divorce in the family court. Yesterday Aravindsamy came to the family court and answered for the judge’s question.

After heard the comments from both sides, judges ordered that Gayathri could see her kids for four days in a week. The meeting would be held at Arvind’s aunt’s house for two days and Gayathri’s sister’s house for the other two days.

Khushboo demanding Rs.3 crores from Maxim magazine

Kushboo demanding Rs.3 crores from Maxim magazine Maxim is a UK based magazine which launched in India few days back. Maxim magazine is only for mens. Maxim in their Indian Edition has published a picture featuring actress Khushboo in Bikini.

Khushboo met Chennai Police Commisioner Mr.R.Natraj and gave a complaint to him regarding this issue.

Khushboo now filed a defamation case against Maxim magazine and demanding Rs.3 crores as compensation and also seeking an apology from maxim.

Vikram, Surya, Jyothika, Sneha hanoured by State Govt. Of Tamilnadu

Vikram, Surya, Jyothika, Sneha hanoured by State Govt. Of Tamilnadu The Kalaimamani award have been announced for the year 2004 and 2005 by Tamilnadu Government. Overall 123 people from various artistic fields have been chosen for the award.

Actors Vikram, Surya, Charlie, Vadivelu, Jayagopal, actresses Sneha, Jyothika, C R Sarasawathi, Kamala Kamesh, Sathyapriya, directors Manobala, P Vasu, K S Ravi Kumar, playback singers Sreenivas, Hariharan, P Vasantha, Anuradha Sriram, dialogue writers M Ramachandran, Crazy Mohan, dubbing artiste Anuradha and more artists have been honored with the award.

The awards will be conferred on 25th February by The Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Manram to 123 artists at Chennai.

K.B’s ‘Poi’ audio released yesterday

K.B's 'Poi' audio released yesterdayThe audio release for K.Balachander’s fortcoming film ‘Poi’ was held yesterday at University Centenary Hall, Chennai. Many artists from Tamil Film Industry including Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan was participated in this audio launch event.

‘Poi’ is Veteran K.B’s 101th film, ‘Poi’ is a love story told in a different manner. Udhay Kiran and Vimala Raman doing lead roles in the film. Vidyasagar scores music for the film and Produced by Actor Prakash Raj.

In his speech, KB said, ‘It was a great feeling to be working with young cast and crew and the film is shaped out well’.

Tamilnadu State Government film awards  for 2003 & 2004 were announcedThe Tamilnadu State Government film awards for the years 2003 and 2004 were announced yesterday. For 2003, Vikram and Laila has choosen as best actor and actress for their performance in the film ‘Pithamagan’. Jeyam Ravi (M.Kumaran s/o Mahalakhsmi) and Jyothika (Peralagan) has won the best actor and actress award for the year 2004.

For 2003, Karu.Palaniappan won the best director award for the film ‘Pathiban Kanavu’ and Bharathiraja’s ‘Eera Nilam’ has choosen as best film. Cheran’s ‘Autograph’ won the best film award for 2004 and he was the best director. Harris Jeyaraj (Kakka Kakka) and Srikanth Deva (M.Kumaran) was the best music director for the year 2003 and 2004 respectively.

Unnikrishnan and Harini was the best playback singers for 2003 and Hariharan and Chitra for 2004. T.M. Soundararajan and P.Suseela were awarded the Arignar Anna award. Yesteryear actors Sheela and Kanchana were chosen for M.G.R. award. K.R. Vijaya and Lakshmi were chosen for Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan award.

The awards will presented by Chief Minister Jayalalitha in Chennai on February 23.

'Netru, Inru, Nalai' - A mega star nite today‘Netru, Inru, Nalai’ is a special function starts at 6.30pm on February 5th at JPR Engineering College, in Sholinganallur. the fuction is conducted to aid the organisation Banyan.

Many Tamil actors and actress participating in the fuction. Directors Maniratnam, Rajiv Menon, Vasanth took responsible for this fuction.

A.R.Rahman is the incharge for Music. Kamal, Simran, Madhavan, Simbu, Pooja and half of Kollywood are participating in the program.
